currently: this semester i am working on getting a working manuscript of my thesis completed.

in general: I began my studies in June of 2004 when I was awarded the Wallenberg Scholarship for Modern Languages. The working title of my thesis is Representing topic and coherence in online weblog networks: An investigation of distributed discourse. A small description of my research can be found here

personally, i am interested in in the process of finding out and formulating why. i am an active 30 year old mother of incomparable twins, emma and sebastian. when i am not busy being a mother, student, teacher… i can be found either reading or playing outside.

in the spirit of the great ee cummings, i have decided to do away with capital letters in this blog (or at least attempt to). his use of the small ‘i’ for personal reference represents, according to Richard S. Kennedy, ‘a person without power, who stands away from the crowd, yet is able to open his heart with song or mock the follies of society and denounce the pretensions of authority’. i believe this to be a nice representation of the blogging community
